Mechanical Design

There are two areas of the golf system: the terrain simulation area, and a base block placed next to the simulation area.

Terrain Simulation Area

The terrain simulating area is split into two smaller blocks for ease of implementation and transportation. The frame is made using 80/20 aluminum rails and fasteners, and a flexible fabric is placed on the top of the frame to form the surface. 30 linear actuators, contained within the frame body, will push and pull on certain locations of the fabric to control the height of the fabric surface. A golf hole is located at a specified point within the terrain simulating area.

Standing Base

The standing base acts as a platform for users to stand on and putt from. The height of the block will be aligned with the height of the terrain simulating area.
